A poem..

Where Do The Children Grow

When you see a smiling face
Their happiness all over the place
Singing, laughing, cries of glee,
Come they say, Play with me
The slide, the swing, the monkey bars.
Look at them close to see who they are.
Lots of races, Ready, Set, Go.
This is how the children grow.

If you watch them everyday
You’ll see they learn as they play
They’ll do what they see, and say what they hear.
You’re their teacher throughout the years.
Their ideas and thoughts in their eyes shine.
Imagination is a glimpse of their mind
When you’re not looking, don’t you know
This is when the children grow.

Watch them as they learn to walk
Listen to them when they talk
Keep them safe, away from harm
Wrap them gently within your arms
Teach them to share and how to take turns.
Set good examples from which they will learn.
At home, at school, wherever they go
This is where the children grow.

Rasa itu…

20 Apr Istanbul from Suleymaniye Camii
Bismillah.
.
.
.

We easily feel the sense of belonging.
We effortlessly make the connection – hablumminAllah, hablumminannas.. Perfect! MashaAllah!
How can Istanbul not mark a deep place in one’s heart?
It is a city anyone can easily fall in love with at the first sight.
.

London itu ibu negara feudal beragama rasmi Nasrani.
Istanbul pula ibu negara sekular beragama Islam.

I used to call homes.
Walaupun sukar untuk fall in love with the first sight, kenangan hidup suka dan duka, menimba ilmu dan kehidupan amat bermakna.

UK penyumbang utama menjadikan Islam the fastest growing religion in the Europe, MashaAllah!
.
.

Jika Istanbul aku katakan Love at the First Sight.
London itu ibarat kata Tak Kenal Maka Tak Cinta.
Only time can tell.
Allahu’alam
.

Pencil Shaving Art by Nuha

14 Nov

I grew up making many fun art pieces and one of the common ones was from pencil shavings and that was really a long time ago. Time flew by so fast! When I was busy growing up and getting older, a speck of “artistic” side of me simply faded away.

While I was helping Nuha sharpening her colour pencils who belonged to my firstborn and which we have been using for 6 years now, the faint memory of pasting pencil shavings on paper just appeared! It was nostalgic

Nuha did this when she was still in nursery last summer. When looking back at this piece, I realised how sweet that this is a combination of mummy’s childhood recollection, Nuha’s The Hungry Caterpillar story and bees we saw every morning at our flowery plants in the garden.

Allahummabariklaha..
